I`ve just found a scart lead in the drawer. I put it in there when I got my latest DVD recorder. Am I likely to need it again or are they pretty much obsolete now? I`d like to chuck it out as it`s taking up space.
As far as I know they are still used, and not all kit that uses one, comes complete with a lead. Unless you are desperate for the spare, I'd keep it if I were you.
I`ve got a fairly new TV and a fairly new DVD recorder and they are connected by HDMI. I was just wondering what new products might need a scart lead. I can`t think there is anything else I would be likely to buy.
All mine went in our Weee cage at work a while back now but if you have still got kit that supports them then you might as well hang onto them/it they dont take up that much space!
very handy to have. You can connect up pretty much anything - set top boxes, vhs, dvd players, etc. There is far more of that sort of kit around than the newer HDMI.
Might come in useful if there' s ever a problem with the HDMI and you need to troubleshoot. Just bung it out of sight behind the tv for a rainy day!
The only thing I might want in the furure is a Freeview HD box and I presume that would use HDMI. However it`s not a bad idea to keep it in case there is a problem and I want to troubleshoot. Thanks for your answers.
