Not exactly relevant in this topic but dont know where else to put it so here goes! I need to return some very lightweight child leggings and wondered if I post them in a normal envelope with 2 first class stamps will this be enough?

I think you can get postage prices on the royal mail website. Just weigh the parcel on an ordinary set of kitchen scales.
but also don't forget about size
Why not just take it along to your local post office? Sounds like it'll probably be too large for a post box anyway...

Wrap them up in expensive looking birthday paper, with a tag on, and then leave them in an unlocked car in the centre of Birmingham, and then they will "walk"!

Good idea, eh?
Tigwig, it depends on the dimensions of the packet - have a look here ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/public/ctf/

sorry, I can't get the link............... ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/public/ctf/

I'm giving up, but Google Royal Mail inland postage rates and you get a very nice pdf wall chart of the dimensions and weights, and how much they cost. You need to weigh the item to be sure.
..and PS don't use my third effort which is out of date, if you can get the second link to work, that's the 2011 rates.

Thanks, as it happens I am going to have to go to the post office to collect a parcel myself now so will check there. Grrr it's so hard to do when I'm working with 3 children under 3yrs with me!
