Noisy Fridge Freezer - why?!!

Hello
My Hotpoint nearly new Fridge Freezer is noisy. Did not notice it too much when had a separate kitchen, but in our new apartment with kitchen diner it is annoying to say the least!
Have tried all different settings and it still cuts in every 30 minutes and the n goes quiet for 30 mins exactly every time - can't hear tv properly.
Late at night have had to resort to turning down freezer stat and then putting it back up later. Don't know if it is freezer or fridge part which makes noise (or both). Is it because it is a frost free model it does this? I seem to remember when we had a non frost free model a while ago it was quieter and when we had a fidge only it was very quiet (not an option hear now)
Am I stuck with this and would a more expensive model be better?

One other thing I was thinking. The FF is 3 years old. Could it be that it needs re-gassing? Don't understand what that does, but on my car I recently had to have the gas topped up on my A/C as they said it would never get cold unless I did.

Thank everyone

I have never had to regas a freezer, ever (I don't even know that it can be done) - and mine are much older than yours, and are frost free too. Is the noise from the actual motor of the FF? - would it help to stand it on carpet? I wouldn't keep changing the temperature in case you forget to put it back down.
Is it level and stable? Or can you rock it?
ours does, it because its not stable, that was according to the manual i looked at to find out why it makes all this noise. Our kitchen floor slopes slightly so no way to stop it unless shove a bboard or something under it to get it level

Tried all these and does not improve. Think I might invest in a top end FF. My colleague has a Miele and it is whisper quiet
Thanks all
our is a good make and not old, but still does it.
