Does having a car converted to LPG affect the cost of insurance?

It shouldn't put it up, and with a bit of shopping about for "green" insurance companies,it might be cheaper.
To be sure ...

put your car details as a petrol fuelled into a comparison website, get quotes then add modification and see what happens.
the LPGA carried out a survey of 20 main insurance companies and 98% stated that LPG conversion will not effect your premium.

Not all modifications effect your premium, although you should inform the insurance company. fitting an alarm is a modification but it would be ridiculous to say that would increase your premium.
Make sure you have a copy of the LPGA installation certificate.
The insurance company may want to see it.
Also, not all insurers will provide cover
