how can you tax the car without a valid insurance certificate and an mot, not possible on paying your car tax on line thats for sure
so someone's slipping up if you can get away with it at the p.o
or does that mean there's over 1 million untaxed un-mot'd cars on the road as well

they get caught pretty quickly rov as the drivers will go round getting tickets, then the owner of the real car kicks up a stink and the whole thing gets resolved.

My friend once wrote down the details of 24 untaxed cars in his road in Ealing and gave the list to the police. They did nothing about it so a week later he told them he was going to tell the local paper. The following day 6 officers turned up. However 3 months later the same cars were still untaxed.
