My daughters partner as left her, they have a joint mortgage .She as a 3yr old and works 21 hours. They have a joint claim for the tax credit . today she is suppose to be making a claim by herself. I have told her to inform her mortgage people about her situation, was I right? There is not much chance of him giving her anything , so Im trying to find out what she can be doing to help herself. Her wage normally just covers her mortgage, and they live of his and the tax credits ect. I don't want her to leave her home, I feel he is going to make it hard for her so she will up and leave and he move back in it. I suggested they sell to her and split whats left, she says he wont sell. does anyone know what or if what help she can get. she as an appoinment with citizens advice but because their busy its not for 2 weeks. I just want to point her in the right direction, I'm out of my mind with worry, she cant stop crying and I dont know what to do.She paid the mortgage on tuesday on time, then he left her wednesday, taking all other cash with him. Don't think he be back. She is not the strongest of people and I dont know what to do to help her. she heartbroke.

I think he is not going to pay his share. Think he will watch her struggle to try to pay. think he wants her to leave. She can come home thats not a problem if she as to. I Have told her them things, but I think he dont care if he liable. he is the sort to pay it after she as left and not before. Thanks for reply, it helps to discuss it . thanks
then that calculation isn't far off then, and it is without the childcare element too, plus, she should contact her gas and electricity supplier immediately to ask for payment options in case she runs up a bill she can't see over ech quarter, and also she needs to check how her child benefit is paid, if his name is still on it then he might have the money going into his bank.
if her partner is also the childs father (in that he is on the childs birth certificate) then she should use this agency for advice if she feels they will not be reconciled:

Have been on the phone to tell her what you said, so sorry for delay in reply. She as elec, and gas top up metres. she as spoke to mortgage people today and told them, for one month only they have reduced it by £200 and changed it to an interest type one, not sure what that means(not an home owner myself) She as been on to council tax their sending her a form. feel so much better and she seemed less upset than she was this morning,. Im very gratefull , thankyou so much
Blackie - is it possible for you to go stay with her for a week or two
She will welcome the support and it will be a comfort for you
Please reassure her she will get through this no matter how difficult it seems at the moment
When my husband beggared off he left me with 1000's in debts and that was 25 years ago. Communication was very important, once they know your situation they know how to deal with it
Good luck
