Was Evans being racist or just stating a fact, due to the poor lighting in the studio?

Would one also be called racist if one couldn't understand what a black person from Nigeria was saying, due to that persons accent?

AOG - I'm guessing you've studied lingistics to such a level that you have discovered a direct link between accents and skin colour. If so well done, I'd love to read your study!
Most people before now have only ever linked accents to locations!

I'm not a rude person really, I'm lovely! People who know me and don't make rash decisions based on tiny bits of information they want to twist to meet their own agenda know this. Although my girlfriend has been known to do exactly that and she still thinks I'm lovely!

I have a friend who is a 'white jamaican'.

But what are you supposed to do if you don't understand what someone is saying?

Why should it be deemed to be rascist if someone can't be bothered to speak English (or get an interpreter) while in the UK? If I go to Germany, they would expect me to speak German, if I go to Russia, they'd expect me to speak Russian, why is it different here?

JTH, believe me, I've been told very often I speak Spanish with a scouse accent (which offends me because I'm from the Wirral!), I'm apparently quite difficult to understand!
