I have seen a few TV programmes helping people in the audience to be able to make contact with loved ones who have passed over. After many viewings I am convinced that it not the end of things when people pass away. Mediums use guides to help them make contact and that has been reinforced to me by reading a book called "The Survival of the Soul" by Lisa Williams published by Hay House UK. The author has recorded messages from guides, Very interesting reading, recommended.
And then there are the murders when the body is not found. How do you cope with that when you never have closure?
Its a doozy of a topic pitstop. I feel its one of those emotions you have to experience before you can make a truly valid point. (having been through the emotion)
Theories are fine but when an issue such as this touches you personaly you get the real emotion, as has already been pointed out.

Best of luck with your essay X
Hugh Spencer, I have yet to see or read any objective account of the work of "mediums" which does not reveal them to be utter frauds, relying both on the gullibility of their audiences and on their eagerness to believe.

The latter is clearly illustrated when someone like James Randi tries to explain to such audiences all the tricks with which they have been fooled. Instead of turning on the "medium" for exploiting them they castigate Randi for daring to shatter their dreams!

I'll try to find the Lisa Williams book and let you know.
