My principal computer (desktop) uses Windows XP and Outlook Express. Recently I treated myself to a laptop which is set up with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail - I also now have a router. For some reason the laptop does not pick up emails. Can anyone suggest please why and what I might do about it?
Two possible reasons sprint to mind.
1) You haven't copied over your account settings from the PC.
2) You are still collecting e-mails on the PC. (The norm is fro the e-mails to be deleted from the server after collection.
I saw an indication saying 'you have one new message' but it disappeared when I tried to open it, so I later picked it up on my desk-top PC. There was also an indicator to view 'feeds', not that I asked for any or expected any, but I clicked and found 132 feeds waiting! Obviously I have a lot to learn and must experiment, but don't feel too 'chuffed' with my new laptop.
Learn about feeds.
If you dl emails on laptop, they then will not be available to PC .. UNLESS you tell the laptop to 'leave a copy on server' and then leave PC email to delete them. (or vice versa)
