Moonraker you are a star, i have been a fan as long as i can remember, and though she retired early from films, and indeed singing, consider her one of the most underrated opera singers of all time. She was a huge child star in the 1940's, and there is no comparison say with Charlotte church. This rendition has me reaching for the kleenex.
Morning all, bit dull here at the moment but he forecast is good, don't know if it was because of all the exposure it got for the world cup but I've always thought Pavarottis' version of Nessum Dorm is something a bit special
Deanna Durbin - what memories of my youth. One of my favourites. A beautiful girl with a beautiful voice. Franchot Tone was nice too. I believe the studio he worked for insured his profile for a large amount, which made him big news when he got ito a fight with someone over a woman. They were just as bad (or as good) then as they are now.
Roast beef for me too, Bobbs. The restaurant we're going to only does Sunday lunch one day a month and we've been waiting a couple of months to go.....hope we're not disappointed.
we are off to a lovely "listed" pub which sits on the banks of the Tyne just below the bridge then quizzing tonight for a good old catch up with our friends :-)
