Moving rhubarb

I have recently moved house and want to know if I can go back to my old place, dig my Rhubarb up, and re-plant it... or will it die?
It had just 3 stalks of Rhubarb when I first planted it, now it's huge and has about twenty. I would really like to plant it in my new place, but just a bit unsure as to whether or not I can do this?

One other thing, the leaves have loads of large holes in them. Would this be from a Caterpillar or the dreaded slugs? Stalks haven't been touched. I'm just wondering if I should be putting slug pellets down.

Apologies, I should have been more clearer. I am able to go back to the property and dig the rhubarb up, I just wondered if it's worth doing, or if it's likely to die? Thanks.

Wonderful! Thank-you. Do you have any idea about the holes? Should I be putting slug pellets down, or is this likely to be from a Caterpillar? I can't see any slimy trails.

Ants?? Is that anything to worry about? Stalks seem fine, just the leaves.

prob cabbage white caterpillars, they love rhubarb leaves.

The size of those holes, it could be both!

Thanks, that's great. I did think I was fretting about nothing, but after I've just lost a whole tub of pots, I didn't want to chance it.
I'll have a look at the Burdock, and see if I've got room!

my hubby is a gardener and says your rhubarb is probably eaten my slugs apparantly they feed at night and then hide so thats why there is no slime.you can put pellets down.as for moving the rhubarb you can move it ,the best time is september when the weather is not hot.you dig it really deep so all the roots are out and keep it wet until you can plant it again.

No worries. Rhubarb is almost impossible to kill off.

Thank-you, Hannah40. I didn't think it was slugs, as there's no trails at all. Surely they'd have to go up the stalks to get to the leaves... unless they are a new breed of flying slugs, of course :)
Unfortunately, I won't be able to wait until Sept to move it, so I'll just do it now and hope for the best.
