Just got back from visiting the family and the neighbours told us that our lovely Cookie died at 1pm today. She was 21 years old (106 in cat years) and had a lovely life. Her back legs went this morning and then her breathing was laboured, but she just sat in her bed and went very peacefully.
We are going to bury her in the garden and plant a bush over her. Her sister is still going strong, so we still have one cat left.

Sadly losing them is the price we pay for loving them... and I am saying no more...but one day...if the circumstances are right....
I'm very sorry to hear about Cookie, and I know you'll miss her.

We lost two cats (Gizmo, and her great grandson, Star) within weeks of each other earlier this year, and it is heartbreaking.

A bush in the garden is a lovely idea.
Sorry to learn of Cookie's passing. I'm sure she had a very contented life.
That is a great age carolegif - I had a rabbit who lived until he was 16 years old - he only died in the Spring of this year and he is buried in our garden. I had him from a baby kit so he was very very special. His name was Sandy and he was a real character - I still miss him terribly.

Glad to hear you cat's sister is still going strong - presumably she is also 21!
May the dear cat rest in peace, at least she's in a better place.
