Thanks Coolplay but I can't really help with 16x16 grids using software (see previous message).  However I will have a crack at this tonight, manually, if no answer has been posted.  How far have you got and when is closing date?

Coldplay  -  I've just sat down with a bottle of Vino Collapso to tackle your grid, only to discover a layout error! Rows 2 & 3 are in conflict:

Coolplay (apologies for previous wrong spelling).  Also for dramatic bold print.  This is a system error and has happened before.  I only underlined 0, D, 0, D  -  absolutely nothing else!!

Congratulations Porilo!  I had a good bash at this last night and solved about 60% after 3hrs.  Had hoped to finish it today but too many interruptions, so I'm glad you've provided the solution.  I agree that the enjoyment of Soduko is the mental challenge, rather than no-brain software which defeats the object.  However, I'm always happy to use this to help anyone looking for a quick 9x9 answer, for whatever reason although these progs are freely available on the Web.  Regards to Coolplay  -  let us know if you win!   ja
