Fell on the bus

I tootled on my back after paying my fare to go home today. Bus driver (local guy) was concerned. It was an accident. I didn't fall on purpose, he didn't do anything different either. I'm not suing and have no plans to do so. An accident is an accident. Not everything is a claim.

Should I write to him to say so? Poor guy was quite concerned

Maybe just tell him so next time you see him alba, he's local and so you're sure to see him soon.............

Not claiming is enough in my opinion. I respect your attitude to it.

If the driver is a local guy and you can see him again a quiet word just to say you don't blame him and accidents happen would do.

You could maybe write it as a thank you for his help (if he helped you) and concern, he might get some praise then to make him feel better.

Last time I tripped getting on a bus I ended up bleeding (took a chunk out of myself) and limping into a seat and not one person even asked me if I was ok.

He will probably have to put it in an accident book - just in case you are badly hurt. I hate walking down a bus - it is like some obstacle course.

It might be nice of you to reassure him - he might feel that he is to blame.

When I got off the bus he asked if I was OK and I assured him I was (I am now aching in various places but do not blame him at all) I just thought a letter to him to say I was fine and didn't blame him at all would be a nice gesture.

Thank you folks for agreeing with me (He does one week another driver does the following week and so on and so forth)

You could try and get in touch with him. He might be worried about his job. Hope you're ok.

I am fine sherr, thank you. I t did tell him loads of times I really was. I'm going to write a quick note to him tonight and give it to him tomorrow, (the letter that is!)

how about writing a letter to the bus company to say how lovely it was that he was so concerned even though it was nothing to do with him that you fell - earn him some brownie points in work and reassure him at the same time - nice that you have this attitude - a little thanks and gratitude goes a long long way and sadly, we live in a world where thank you is an unusual phrase xxxx

I'm fine, aching in places I've forgotten that existed but am well-padded.

My falling had absolutely nothing to do with you or your driving. I've been a passenger on your bus for years and will continue to be one (if you'll allow me to be one!)

I'm a bus driver and I would be very pleased at your letter.

Most of us do care about our passengers whether old, young, fit or unfit.

Unfortunately there are some that view anything as a means of making a couple of quid at someone else's expense. That's one of the reasons many buses have cctv. Our garage has just got some new doubledeck buses and they have 10 cameras on them.

Isn't it a terrible sign of the times that some folks don't see an accident as exactly that.

Bus driver's doggie is 7 weeks pregnant (last time I spoke to him she was 5 weeks) He works a week, another driver does another and so on and so forth.

I'd never get anywhere if it wasn't for bus drivers and the occasionial taxi driver. (Bus drivers are under-rated and shouldn't be)

a client came to me once claiming to have been thrown half way down the bus, despite having been holding on tight, when the driver "slammed on the brakes". They sent us cctv footage - she wasn't holding onto anything, was free-standing with her arms folded and fell over when he pulled off at the lights - soon put an end to that claim. such a shame that people out there see pound signs - wasting mine and the bus company's time....

don't make anything more out of it - he was, after all only doing what any normal person would do - he was concerned for you, you are okay so what's the prob? Nice way to deal with it but only what used to happen a while ago.
