Who'd want to spend the last 50 years of their life in a nursing home?

Who says they go in a nursing home??

This upsets me so much.
it's all a bit sci-fi isn't, I'm sure they'd have far more issues treating degenerative problems of the brain.
I suppose you'll not be able to retire and get a pension until age 130 ish. That'll be the teachers out on strike again.
I am not sure I want to live that long, not in a nursing home anyway.

It would be great to live in a nursing home, except for the old people.
Im assuming that when you say a "Nursing home" you actually mean a residential home? very different.

A nursing home has on site nurses for nursing care, a residential home is where old people live that need a bit of help in there later years but not nursing care.

Actually im probably being a touch pedantic but that is the difference between a Nursing Home and A Residential home, A residential home does not require any qualified nurses on its staff.
Oh I would insist on nurses - young nubile ones in tight white uniforms.
Its OK Hopkirk, the Care staff in Residential Homes also wear a uniform and will still give you a bed bath and wash all those hard to reach places :-)
I would live out my Benny Hill dream.
Was that an offer, Ratter?
Chuck, Im not sure Hopkirk would want me cleansing his hard to reach places, my scrubbing brush is a long handled one and just a little coarse :-)
And what will the world's population be then? It's ridiculous - people have to die! We can't all just keep trundling along for hundreds of years. I wouldn't want to anyway, especially seeing how grumpy some folk can get past the age of 60 - what would they be like at 120?
If you managed to banish the problems with aging then you'd probably be fit enough to stay in charge, and prevent all the things otherwise imposed on you that make you grumpy. Well at leeast until you are 120.
