I have recently been given my grandad's ancient Fiesta MK2 and want to replace the stereo to something that plays CDs or at the very least cassettes. Does anyone know how to remove the original stereo from this model? There are no slots for the removal tools I have seen on various websites.

Also does anyone have any tips for installing a new one? I have only done it once with a VW Polo '98 and that was pretty easy, this looks like it might be a bit more complicated with this one.

If it has small holes at each side corner, you need to use removal pins (or compromise) Is it a Ford Radio/Cassette?
They're easy to do. There will probably be a connecting block with Perm.Live +, Accessory/Switched Live, and Earth. Make sure you get those right. You need to splice new connector bundle to those incomings, as well as speaker set.
Just test existing power cables with test light or M-Meter for the lives and earth.
So easy, when you know how.
Im fairly sure Fiestas as early as MK2 didnt have the pins for removal, MK3 did... From what i rememeber you have to take the centre face plate off to allow removal..
Use galv roofing felt nails and wriggle around in the holes. It will be released.
