If I work a 8 hour day 9-5 what breaks am I entitled to ?
I have been told that you get 15mins morning break and then 30 mins for lunch, the lunch break is unpaid, so we get paid for a 7half hour day.

Unpaid lunchbreaks with paid tea breaks is the norm.

Minimum 20 mins break in 6hours is the law, but in practice, 30 - 60 minute breaks are encouraged and deducted from the pay.
needs of the business dictate whether you get to take the paid break though but
just pointing out redhelen that some firms do pay for meal breaks
>> But to be honest if I said it was white Dr Filth you would have said it was black <<

don't understand that
i do 12 hours and 15 minutes shift and do not get paid for any of my breaks!
Gina, if you work a 12 hour shift you must have, by law, at least 20 minutes break
gina32 did not say she had less than the minimum break time for working 12 and a quarter hours, only that the breaks were unpaid.
ab, thank you
