Argh, how annoying are those noises you can pin down!
There's been this wierd pulsing noise, for about 5 seconds then off for a few minutes then on again), almost like phone on vibrate but further away. Before you start haha, it doesn't sound like "that" kind of vibrating :)
My phone is right next to me so it's not that, haven't got anything else like an alarm clock which vibrates or pulses and the boiler isn't on so can't be that. Not even sure it's even in the house but been pissing it down so loathe to go exploring! It's driving me a bit demented - keep putting the TV on mute to try and work out where it's coming from.
Fridge is ok (just raided it for cheese!), freezer ok too - not sophisticated enough to have an alarm (just a diddy box one on top of the kitchen cabinet) as I found to my cost when it defrosted a freezer full of bargain food I'd brought and it took me trying all sorts of plugging in and out only to discover I'd accidentally switched it off at the wall!
I do have a Sky box but seems ok. Not keen to faff with turning the electric off as the last couple of times I did it set the house alarm out and it won't reset with the normal code! I'd just be trading noises :)
I've not heard it for a while but am driving myself made listening for it now!
I'm flummoxed! Especially as it now seems to have stopped, I want to know what it was. My only other thought was a little clock I bought, a digital thing with an alarm, I thought it beeped but the batteries died really quick. Am wondering if it's that but no idea where it is!
I woke up one night and went to the ladies room. I could hear a far off alarm type noise and it started to annoy me. After about 15-20 minutes I was in a foul mood about it and went down stairs to get a drink.
The noise was actually coming from my vacuum cleaner. i had switched it off but left it plugged in. 'Someone' must have leapt on it during the night and switched it on - somebody black and white in colour who just can't stay out of trouble.
