If all illegal drugs were legalised, and subsequently taxable, that would automatically eradicate a lot of the associated crimes? Money laundering, prostitution, human trafficking et al. Legalisation would also bring in mch needed money to the economy.
That argument has been put forward many times, and may be the answer, but no one wants to take the risk, and also appear to be implying drug taking is acceptable. Maybe one day.

But some drugs (alcohol included granted) cause people to lose their jobs and then crime would be turned to to fund their habit anyway. I don't see the link between legalising drugs and human trafficking either?
