I posted a thread about an online scam and, unfortunately, a few ABers got caught.
They could be about to be conned again (a 2nd, automatic payment). Is there any way to warn them individually ?
The only way you can get in touch with someone here "off site" is to post a message here, with your email address, asking them to contact you. (Use a 'disposable' address, of course, so that you don't get lots of spam filling your Inbox!)
You could put the details about what is happening as there may be others who need to know. If people saw your warning before, likely they will see the second instalment anyway.
One possible other way:
If you click on a member's profile you can see all of the questions which you've posted. If you put a post on one of their threads (even if it's a thread which is several years old) they'll automatically receive a "You've got an answer email", which will hopefully get them to take a look at the thread again.
http://www.theanswerb.../Question1026696.html if it was this thread then i wouldnt worry about them. Each person that claimed to have been caught out only joined AB long enough to post a reply and then never came back on the site again
That WAS the thread, redcrx. Was hoping they may've subscribed so they would get an e-mail (which is how I was alerted to it again) but I guess if they're new they may not have realised. Aw well, I tried. Hate to see people ripped off this way, 'specially when this '2nd instalment' could be stopped :o(
