I am trying to set up a column inserting a Time value i.e. 0930 or 1140 etc.
Not having much luck.Have followed the steps as pe Help section but when I enter the time value I wish to the cell reverts back to its own pvalue i.e. 09.36 or 00.00 but will not accept my value. Any help appreciated.

This is how I do it in a previous version of Excel, it should be the same in your version:

Firstly, go into cell format and set it to Custom - then type hhmm in the box. This will then display hours and minutes with no gap in between. Then just enter the time value into the cell as 9:30 (the colon is important), and it will display as 0930.

Thank you Aquariel Brilliant works a treat. I was using a full stop not the colon.
