How many of each car are there left?

Anybody see TopGear tonight? (2/7/11). Our beloved Mr Clarkson was going on about a website that lists how many of each model of car is left in the world. e.g. There might be 182 Rolls Royce Phantom's left or 42,871Golf GTI's left in the world.

Please can someone steer me in the direction of this said website.

I dont think This is how many left but just how many are on the road - the example he gave of only 1 1750 automatic maxi left is not correct because I have one! - just that its on an SORN.

No surprise that there are only 2 Daf 44 autos left, I had one of those in 1978, they ran on rubber bands

I had one of them, dotty - actually it was a Volvo, I think they were linked to Daf and used the same technology. The rubber bands were great, you could shoot off past Jags at the traffic lights, in a car looking like a tank.

There are only 25 of my first car left, Datsun 120y....! quite a few Morris Marina's still around, mine was blue with a vinyl roof covering! bet few of these still have there vinyl roof coverings intact!

I can't find how many of mine are on the list. It's a Vauxhall corsa 1.4 LS from 1994 (L) reg It's not the 1.4i from 1997 that keeps coming up. Mines one of the very first after the Nova's ended, They made K and L reg 1.4 but a garage told me they was rare and not many 1.4 of this year was made. All I can find are the 1.4 i ones under 1997 on the list.

Jezza & Co said there was only one Chevette GL Automatic left. Well to coin one of his sayings, WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG! The last time someone was that wrong, Neville Chamberlain was at the top of the steps with a piece of paper in his hand.

There are three of them left.

I have one and since it hasn't been taxed since 1992 and I have three hens living in it I don't think it counts.

At least with this site it will tell Messrs Clarkson & Co how many grand pianos they need to rid the world finally of the Morris Marina.

Also, this site only reflects UK stats, so the 1992 Peugot 405 languishing in my orchard over the border in Co. Cavan with the cherished plate 92-TN-405 will not be included. Oh, I have hens living in that too.

tali1, that is solely down to Clarkson's efforts in the last 2 years or so with his new venture 'careless-air' dropping pianos wherever a Marina is parked. He wants to get his act together. Given that method, if I put my mind to it, I could have the world rid of Ford Mondeos by teatime.
