Bank not recognising my computer.

Every time i log into my banks web site i get the message that they dont recognise my computer from the supplied info, I have to then supply extra info to log on, I have checked all the numbers etc.
Any ideas as to what could be the cause?

I'm at a loss to understand what you mean. I've had internet banking for years and each time I have to log in - it's part of the process to ensure who you say you are.

I'm the same. The bank has my info but every time I log on I have to type in my DOB and three random digits of my security number. I presume that this is to make sure I am who I say I am.

bit confused myself as you can normally log on with any PC with the right details etc..

It might help if you mentioned the bank, I bank online with lloyds and natwest and neither of them require me to use a specific computer.

Maybe it's to do with cookies on your computer, have you got rid of the temp files with those in? If you haven't then contact your bank by phone and see what they come up with.

are you being careful how you log in
don,t use any links in emails even if they seem to be genuine because they almost certainly will not be, you will be taken to a spoof site that looks like your bank but in fact it is their phishing site that will be copying all your log in details and then they block your account on the genuine page and take your money

I have just gone to my emails now and there is one from Lloyds bank stating that there have been several attempts to log into my account with the wrong details and can I confirm them again
I DONT EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT THERE ! so you see what they could do if you thought it was genuine

More than likely your pc is not set to accept cookies and not logging your IP Address, which is what the bank uses to recognize your pc.

The bank doesn't "know" your PC, although you can set your own PC to "remember my settings". I can log into my bank on any PC, if it's not my usual home one then I do have to re-enter all the numbers - but it's quite usual as extra security devices to have to add the extra info so they are sure they are not letting a stranger into your account details. Which bank is this?
