ear problem update question

Hi sqad and abbers. my original thread was

His gp told him it was a build up of wax (relief)....i put some otex drops in last night and he went completely deaf for about 30 mins then hearing returned slightly. This morning he,s regretting putting the drops in because his hearing is worse than before putting the drops in. Do you think having them syringed might help (that presuming his GP surgery still do this) He could probably put up with it if he wasn't already deaf in the other ear!

i'm not sqad, but you need to put the drops in for about 2 weeks before having ears syringed. Putting them in once i neither here nor there

Just tell him to get them syringed. It only takes a couple of minutes and it makes such a difference.

When I had mine done last year the nurses told me not to use any eardrops at all as they contain all sorts of things which had made my ear inflamed. Olive oil is the best thing to use.

If he has wax, then he needs his ears syringing.....don't be fobbed off.

Drops are fine to soften the wax, but if nobody has tried to syringe them, then how does one know that they need softening.
