Anyone else think this is total stupidity - literally a case of having more money than sense given that they open the door to criminal interest that would otherwise have no realinfo to go on.

I would not have made it public, no way.

Karenmac I could tell you, but it would be morally wrong and a breach of this site. Proves my point though - I found out within a minute of seeing your post, and would have been quicker if I had done that first. I've got no vested interest, but had I, or were I of the dodgy don't care what I do for money lot, I'd be planning something.

OK we all know they probably aren't there now, but chances are they have been advised to leave the house or be forced to leave, and that is hardly lucky.
It's not as if the money is to be kept in suitcases under the bed, is it? Camelot have all sors of advisers on hand, they'll be alright.
Good luck to them .I wouldn't have gone public but I watched them being interviewed and they seem like a lovely couple .
I can see their point when they said that they would have had to resort to subterfuge if they wanted to treat their children to a new home ,driving lessons etc .
They said that they would be taking advice as to what to do with so much dosh and wanted to help various causes .
They seemed so gob smacked by it all .I wish them luck .
They're on the News just now and they say all they plan on doing is maybe buy the wife a new car. Why buy a ticket then????
I think they said in the interview I watched Karen that it was a lucky dip ticket .
I think they said that they wanted to see their children OK as they are grown up but can't afford much and that they themsleves wanted to travel and see abit of the world .
At my age if I won that much dosh I'd make sure my family was Ok and that we had enough to see us out in comfort and give the rest of it away .
All that money would be to much hassle.
You can only have so many handbags :)
With all due respect to them, I would spend the first few hundreds on a stay at a health and fitness spa to get some of that weight off and then hire a full time nutritionist and cook combined to make sure that they eat carefully in future so as to live to see the world.
stargazer, they will be in the spa for months, given the pics on the news tonight.
in her casem a million £ a kilo it seemed.....
Don't be so horrible about what people look like, that's so nasty IMO. As for the question of the thread, I think they were silly to go public with all the dreadful people out there that will prey on them. Just hope they can survive that even if Camelot are looking after them, they won't be their bodyguards 24/7 365 days a year.
Of course they've 'gone public'. I paid them eleven million quid to pretend that they're the winners, so that I could enjoy spending the remaining one hundred and fifty million without anyone hassling me!
;-)
