how long do you have to wait to put food in a new frost free freezer
3 Answers
I have just had a new frost free freezer delivered this afternoon and followed the instructions and it says push the fast freeze button (a light comes on) and put food in when the light goes out, that was 4 hours ago, the lights still on.
does anyone know how long you have to wait to put food in a new frost free freezer. I have the old one plugged in my conservatory with my food in and its rather hot out there. The instruction manual does not say how long it takes.
many thanks

(It can often void the warranty, so I'm extremely surprised that your freezer hasn't come with such a warning).
There are conflicting views as to when you can put food into a new freezer, here:

(When my freezer has defrosted for some reason, I always leave it for a day or so before putting food in).
I suggest putting a plastic container in the freezer, with a reasonable volume of water in it. When ALL of the water has frozen (not just the top) it's probably OK to put the food in.
