How do you remove biro ink from a leather sofa?

Son decided to have a scribble on our sofa is there anything that removes it?

Hairspray is supposed to work, but I'd try it somewhere where you can't see it first!
I agree with Kathyan Spray it onto a cloth and rub but try it first where you cannot see it.
Hairspray DOES work (I am the not so proud owner of a white leather sofa - not my choice). Only problem is, it brings up the "biro'd" bit brilliant and the rest then looks grubby so you end up having to do it all.

We tend to buy BMW's leather cleaner and use that. It's expensive but it does a great job.
You could sell him to gypsies.

or glycerine, meths, surgical spirit etc.
This happened to me before..Hairspray does indeed work! :)
