Can anyone advise on this please

would anyone know if there is a way to get resin off some
plastic containers, got the gummed labels off with a struggle, but the
backing resin resolutely stayed put, and nothing so far has shifted it.
I have tried all sorts, not least elbow grease, but they remain sticky to
the touch. Tried soaking them, cif, you name it, nothing works

WD40 or eucalyptus oil both work and clean away without leaving greasemarks

The paper bit of the label came off with a bit of elbow grease but the back stuff, the resin or whatever stuck fast. And sorry but i worried so much about using the WD40 which i did try, about leaving it on food containers, that i binned them. I did wash them up, but could still smell the stuff, I wonder why manufacturers insist on using all these labels anyway, these were so big, plastered over half the contained, had no idea it would be such a struggle to get the labels off. Thanks for the help
