tonsillitis?
My sons nose always seems blocked and i have noticed he has trouble breathing through his nose. He sleeps with his mouth wide open and snors (quite loudly). he also has a slight problem with his hearing recently. I took him to doctors on monday as he had a ear infection while i was there i also mentioned all the above i was concerned with. She told me my sons tonsils and adenoids were swollen and were quite large she said she would see him again after a hearing test see what to do from there. My son stayed at my partners mams last night she called me this morning to say he woke up with a huge lump on the side of his throat and his pjamas were soaked with sweat she called my doctors emergncy number they said it's just a swollen gland due to the ear infection(which still hasn't gone away) there advice was keep giving him calpol and take him to doctors first thing monday morning which i will of cause do. he also has lost a bit of weight in the last couple of weeks and had lost his appetite which he has regained over the last few days. He seems happy at moment and in no pain. Question is shall I wait to monday to go doctors or go to hospital today? and is this tonsillitis?
Thanks in advance for any help!

If his throat is really back, ring the Dr's out of hours and insist that he is seen by a GP and that you are prepared to take him to a clinic to be seen. If he says, you can wait and you are worried, persist. The Doctors at the Out of Hours I work for are pretty good and theywould probably recommend that you attend the clinic anyway. Hope you get on ok. Sue
