are you sure of all these letters?
scotman - just curious - are you from Edinburgh?
think that some of these letters have to be wrong!......
Otis, am stuck on this one too. Pasta sauce i have as Ragu and Rut for cart track which gives "r". Final word i have is clarted which i have never heard of!!!
unless the clue is wrong 'clarted' is unlikely to be the answer. This means covered in muck or dirt.
Just googled it and came up with this definition:-

clarted:- To be covered in something, normally referred to an object.
Scotman, here is how the letters come about:-

Birmingham Venue: NEC C
Beard of Barley: ALN L
Perthshire River / Prince Andrews Sister TAY/ANNE A
Cart Track / Brand of pasta sauce RUT / RAGU R
Pat gently TAP T
After Tax / Function NETT / USE E
Biblical Garden EDEN D
well if the clue is correct it seems the solution is a plural noun ending in 'd'. Not many of them in English. I am beat.
i have finished pick me up issue 30 but can't find your clue in follow it my answer is railway are you sure you have the right issue
June, its issue 29
the answer i have is awarded beard of barley is also called awn and birmingham venue could be n e a

awarded ? beard of barley could be awn birmingham venue could be n.e.a (national exhibition arena)
