I ran a full scan on computer yesterday, the security i have is fine, scan
took quite a while. But message pop up says Windows defender needs to run a scan, is that necessary as well?

anyone help please, also i have a backup disk, do i use same disk if want to do another back up in the future, or a new one. Hope that makes sense

Well it won't hurt to sun a scan with defender too!

And no idea for the backup, as I've no idea a) what you are using for backups b) how you have it setup and c) if it's a reusable disk or not.

Your backup should overwrite itself, surely? - so your backup is always the latest version?

We invested in an external hard drive so we now always have automatic backup - having lost loads last time the system failed and we had no external backup, we live and learn!

No... full backups will either overwrite (which isn't a great idea) or create a complete new backup as well as the original. or you can have incremental backups which take one full backup and then subsequent backups just write the changes that have been made since the original one.

CF no idea, a friend said should do a backup, and would have to look at the disk. Would it be just a simple or not, to use another disk.
Thanks for the advice, will have a look what one i used. Been getting messages on computer, about backing up data, and thought i had better ask
