Hello Lazygun. These pictures are awe inspiring for everyone I'm sure. However, for those of us who believe, it just makes our faith even stronger.
The words I've used are 'believe' and 'faith'. As I have said before I can't prove that God started the whole process but, with respect, you can't prove He didn't!
I remember going to a talk by astronomer Dr Alan Chapman. He has spent his life studying the universe and he has a very strong Christian faith. It made complete sense to him that creation was by design. Others will say they've searched the universe and God doesn't exist. They are points of view but please don't look for proof or claim that there is any, either way.

uh...yes you can prove that god didn't make the universe. for a start, it happened long before 6000 years ago (as many devout christians claim) and there are loads of other scientific facts/research that back up the big bang/evolution etc. blind faith is just that...blind. as for the wishy washy lovey dovey rubbish that is farmed out as religious material...it all helps to keep the sheep under control x
Are you absolutely certain that you can prove that there was no supreme being/deity involved in the creation of the universe? If so, I wish I had your faith!
Science has espoused all sorts of theories throughout the ages and then other generations come along and 'prove' that they were wrong.
There are many Christians who do not believe in the literal interpretation of the bible. However, that isn't my point. I'm saying that I acknowledge that my belief is faith 'the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen'. Yes, blind if you like, but blind people can still use their brains and work things out. There are all sorts that I can not prove through science, but rely on other intangible things. There is a spiritual dimension to humanity that makes me cry at certain music, or sceneries or art etc. Human love can't be proved, but it is manifested and believed in through how we treat each other and through emotions. It often doesn't even make much sense - or is that just my life!
I don't know how the universe and our world came in to being - but even if the Big Bang can be proved (and the LHC is very interesting), that doesn't mean that God didn't chose that method for creation.
I'm more interested in the why than how and hope that makes me live a life that is beneficial to others and reassuring for me.

Sqad - well it's not a bad one and I certainly believe it is how faith manifests itself.
I just wish that we could accept that there is no way atheist scientists or creationists can 'prove' anything. Evolution, abiogenisis or other theories are very interesting and it is exciting to try to use modern advances to look back at the origins of all we know but it doesn't disprove God. My faith is too strong to be threatened by them.
