When he is driving everyone else is a bad driver, "look at this t**ser why is he/she driving so slowly" etc. We end up falling out because I'm telling him he can't go any faster than the driver in front of us. He gets himself so worked up about it that now I just agree with him and hope that the poor "t**ser" in front of us turns off somewhere soon.
I haven't had a really angry spell for a few years - I wish that I could say that it is because I am a well balanced person - but it is more to do with the Lithium I am 'persuaded' to take.
The good thing about being angry (as I remember) is that you feel so much better after you explode - crying or hitting someone helps. ;-)

Tell yourself not to dwell on the cause of your anger, giving it the ability to grow. The counting to ten thing is nothing magical, it is supposed to give you time to gain control, not to rush through the count and then say it didn't work. Find something else to occupy your mind. If the irritating situation intrudes on your thoughts again, and the anger starts to rise, then remind yourself that this does you harm, no one else. You have no need to risk lowing a blood vessel, having a stroke or a heart attack. Tell yourself you refuse to dwell on it, and return your thoughts to whatever you were concentrating on as an alternative thing to do.
