if anyone can help (cos Virgin Media clearly cant) i have worked my way around this phone and its a good one - however - my home PC email account is with outlook express and when i try to put these details (email address and password etc) into my phone it keeps saying cannot connect to server!!!
Sooooo frustrating cos password is correct etc.... and spent 3 hours (in total) on the phone to virgin and even they cant sort it out??
i have even tried changing my P/W to no avail?
stuck now? not very technical to be honest but not a dinosaur either

This is just a shot in the dark, Curly, seeing that you have no other worthwhile replies.
If you cannot connect to server, could it be that a dot in the e-mail address has accidentally been changed to a comma??
That would stop the connection.
Just a thought!

hey well thank you for AT LEAST replying - seems most on here just wanna chit chat about soaps and crap - rarely do proper genuine questions (afterall that is what this site USED to be many years ago) the thing is - my phone on the key pad already has a special button with .com on it? because of that problem occuring i guess?

Just occurred to me, curly. Virgin changed the OE e-mail ports some time ago.
The original OE SMTP port was 25 but is now 465 and the POP3 port was 110 and is now 995. Try them and see how you go.
I don't get e-mail on my phone so I could be talking trough my hat.
