Started, but not finished

I'm trying not to buy anymore books until I've read some of the ones I've started but haven't finished. Has anyone read any of these books and can tell me which ones are worth persevering with? Thanks

Princess Bride and Swimming Pool Library are excellent.

Thanks Quizmonkey, I loved the film of The Princess Bride, so I'm giving the book another go. I like the story itself, it's the bits in between by the narrator that I find distracting.
