Reports are suggesting that he acted alone. I wonder how a lone madman managed to get a detonator and a booster, usually a small amount of high explosive, for the bomb he made?

he was planning it for 8years even bought a farm to cover for the fact he could buy tons of fertiliser (for explosive) and not raise suspicion
also not proved "mad" yet

Almost anything can be used as a detonator, bombs are really not that hard to make. If someone, almost ANYONE, wanted to make a bomb then they could- probably not what you'd want to hear but true.

The IRA made a lot of fertiliser based bombs in the early days of The Troubles. Lots of them were duds because without a booster they couldn't get them to work.
If the Norwegian killer didn't have a detonator and a booster of commercial explosives he was lucky that his bomb exploded.
