Playing DVD's on computers/laptops

How do you play dvd's with copy protetion on computers but especially laptops? They always tend to be copy protected but for someone who wants to watch them via the computer this seems impossible now. Do I need Media edition windows or are there programs to use? I am not interested in copying them as I just want to watch a dvd that I already own in an alternative location to my sitting room.

I use CyberLink's PowerDVD. Never had a problem playing any DVDs.

There is a small utility from Slysoft called AnyDVD which will let you watch any discs on any PC using your normal DVD playing software.

Never had a problem playing DVDs in either my laptop or desktop, with a variety of programs. (Music CDs can occasionally be a bit more problematical).

Are you sure you aren't having region-coding problems, which can be fixed with a number of programs?

Download VLC media player off the net (its free) and it will play anything you throw at it, even copes with DVD's from different regions.
