I have problem with central locking key.Local garage changed battery but still not working. They said it needed soldering inside but they have no small iron.Is it worth getting it soldered.I know a new key is very expensive.

IT IS A CLIO 2002 year.
Don't suppose you can do it yourself then...(touching 4 bits of metal together for a couple of seconds really isn't hard!)

if not get the small soldering iron, take it back into the garage and ask them to do it and see if they'll take the iron as payment so they have one in future :)

Back to the Clio Key problem.I did the soldering myself .It,s very small to do but saved much much money. It seems the Clio of the year 2002 has a fault which doesn't show up till now.Even the unused spare key had the switch unsoldered when opened to check if the battery was finished. The garages don't want to know about repair they only want to charge 2/300 £s to supply new key.
