How do you change password...
Been trying to advise a friend and cannae work it out!
When she goes into Internet Settings, the connection option allows her to change password, but it is still the same when she returns to actually dial-up. And the 'save password' box is blanked out.
Help?!
I'm guessing it is Windows 98 and you haven't authenticated to the local machine. Search for all password files (*.pwl) then delete them. The use Log Off to log off then back on to the local machine. Leave the password blank, unless you want a password, then look at the dial-up properties. If it is not Win 9x then you probably don't have administrative rights (log on as an administrator).
Your internet dialup password is controlled by your ISP, not your pc; Log in to your account on the isp website there may be a 'change password' button, if not, send them an email requesting change of password. :-)
Yes, re-reading the question I think xyzzy@bok is very likely to be right. My answer derives from having changed your password (by some means) then wanting to put the new password in but not being able to because the option is greyed out.
