Formula One moves to Sky
Yet another sport I won't be able to watch live!
Murdoch strikes again :-(

I think most of the people who have commented here obviously dont watch F1 - Sky will have adverts, wont have the same coverage as BBC, wont have the same commentators etc. I cant afford sky sports so absolutely gutted that I am going to miss so many races. F1 is the sort of sport where you need to watch every race as every race is completely different.

Disgusting that is all I can say. Total rubbish on the tv anyway these days, now I see sky has got the rights to F1, although I believe a few of the races will still be shown live on the BBC. Why should we have to pay for sky, alright for those who can afford it, sky is so dominant these days and it is only going to get worse. You pay enough for the BBC licence and most the time it is not worth watching. I think I will be joining the many people who are giving up the television and just watching the programmes they like online.

how many of those sports get live coverage of every event in their season? let alone live coverage of practice and qualifying too
on the basis of those sports' coverage, only the British GP, possibly Monaco and probably the last GP of the season ought to be shown live - and with the new tv deal you are going to have a lot more live events than that as well as highlights of each race during rest of the season which more than all those other sports (except football) get

"I dont know about anyone else but my tv license went up again this year..."
You must be the only one because the current licence fee was set by the Government in April 2010 and will not be increased until 2017.
"I dont pay anything for E4 or Channel 4 etc."
Yes you do - the TV licence is required to watch ANY broadcast channel:
to watch SKY you must pay for the licence and the subscription
to watch Virgin you must pay for the licence and the subscription
to watch Freeview you must pay for the licence
to watch Terrestrial you must pay for the licence
So to watch BBC and/or ITV and/or CH4 and/or Ch5 etc. etc. will cost you £145.50

It would appear that there's a problem with some of the comments (mine included) going missing from the story on the Sky website since this morning.
Don't worry though, it seems to be only the negative ones. That's a relief.
Free speech is still alive and well in the satellite broadcast world, as long as you agree.
