hi there i was just wondering if anyone could put my mind at ease please? i reacently went on a fishing trip and lost quiet a lot of expensive fishing gear i am covered but have been asked for reciepts but i have none will this affect my claim?

Youve been asked for receipts. You have none.
The insurance co. will need to know why (gift etc) and then may ask for proof of ownership (photos of you with said gear is a good one)
The fact you "lost" some gear will be looked into - was it stolen etc, or were you just careless and left it somewhere
Insurance companies are all different, so you will be better of speaking to their claims advisors and they will advise how to proceed
