My cousin is self employed and employs one person paye. Work is not coming in everyday and he has paid his employee out of his own money on numerous occasions. So he has told the employee that he wants him to go self employed and have a 65%/35% split. He has refused and my cousin is worried about what to do as he cannot dip into his own savings and work just to pay someone else whilst his bills aren't getting paid. How can this be sorted out amicably ???

You have to work for several employers to be self employed...

Your cousin will have to change the hours/days of work...

What sort of contract has he got. May have to just give him required notice to leave and see if he can manage by himself at the moment.
hi, if you want to see your previous answers to the same question asked twice, you simply have to click on "my profile" on the top left side. I have nothing else to add from the answers you have there from before
It looks to me, bednobs, as if this is the third thread from jinie on this matter of changing an employee's status from employed to self employed.

Sometimes I get the impression some posters keeps resubmitting questions until they get they answer they want to hear, but I think many of the duplicated questions occurs because posters genuinely don't know how to find their earlier threads, so your guidance on this will hopefully help some users
