It depends how much money u have really, to part rent/part buy u still need quite a bit of cash, for a start u usually need a deposit. If u are low on cash, really prob best to put yourself on the council list, you may as well do this anyway as this can take some time. You can test other options while waiting. Also get in contact with CSA as soon as, i know people say they are not great, but if its only chance you are going to get to get any support you may aswell, and im pretty sure they dont back pay, so sooner the better. As others said if u work part time then you should be entitled to tax credits, if you already receive these then contact them with change of circs as you should be entitled to more. You must work over 16 hours to claim tax credits, if you work less you may be able to claim income support. As others have said u could go to citizens advice, they will advise you on everything.
