What shall I make using cognac/brandy?

My hubby bought four cognac/brandy samples to decide which he likes, rather than waste money on a big bottle. As I suspected, he wasn't very impressed with any of them.

So now I have the equivalent of three sample-sized bottles of cognac and brandy. I don't want to chuck it, and we don't want to drink it, so can I have suggestions of what to make with it?

I have a feeling something chocolate-related would go down well but am open to any and all suggestions, be they savoury or sweet.

You could soak some raspberries or other fruits in the brandy for a few days, then heat and pour them hot over a good quality vanilla and / or chocolate icecream. Top it off with whipped cream and if you like and a few almond flakes. Yummy!!!

Thanks for the recipe redcrx. I also like the sound of the syllabub. Flambe sounds too dangerous for my tiny kitchen. Not going to leave it sitting in the cupboard until Christmas/a later date now I have these tasty suggestions!

We have bananas covered in brown sugar and brandy poured on top then grilled or barbequed serve with clotted cream. Gorgeous mmmm Making me sweden OH no I mean hungry lol

What a waste of good brandy. I like mine neat.! Cannot understand why people put anything in with it.! And it is usually men I have found that want to put something in it not us women.!! Lovely .!! x

lilacben - the whole point is that its not good brandy - if it had been he would have drank it!
