An earlier question made me wonder - i recently changed my registered address on the electoral roll, but dont remember coming across any box i could tick to keep off the edited copy that is available online etc. Where can i check if my details are there for all to see ?.
And can i get it removed if it is ?.
Thanks guys

Head to your local council office. They will have the full electoral roll but this should also indicate which names also appear in the edited roll. If in doubt, contact the electoral registration officer for your area. (Phone your council . They can give you the contact details).

Note that, if you live outside of a metropolitan area, the 'council' referred to, above, is your district (or borough) council and not the county council.

The electoral roll is a bit like the telephone directory. If you suddenly decide to go ex-directory, you can't expect BT to reprint the entire directory (and withdraw all existing copies). You have to wait for the next edition to be printed before your name is removed. The same applies to the electoral roll. If your name is already shown on the edited roll, you can't do anything about it until the next registration form drops through your door.
