depression
i was pleased (if that is the right word to use) to see so many postings over the weekend on the subject of depression.
after a considerable nightmare year i only yesterday revealed to myself and those close to me that i couldnt cope any longer, the tough hard nosed exterior i had been portraying for so long was in fact a cover up to my unhappiness, lonliness and insecurity.
Dakota i completley sympathise with everything you wrote in your question and the response from all you guys has made me realise alot of things, and made me see there needs to be change in life, for the sake of my sanity, health and life.
i am determined to beat this and get back the years in my life when i was the person i used to be, but 10x stronger.
for all those out there suffering this pain, dont put yourself through it anymore, there are people out there that can help and no body will think any different of you or criticise you.everybody needs someone at one point in there life.
dont be afraid xxx

One of the many problems affecting people with depression is their inability to actually confide their desparation, even to those closest to them. That combined with the ability to present a 'normal' front to the world causes the condition to worsen, often to breaking poiint, before anyone realises what is wrong.
As you say, help is available, but the vicious circle of the condition makes seeking that help in good time almost impossible. All we can do as aware people, is look out for the symptoms we now recognise, in our friends and family members.
