A PC component I bought a while back has malfunctioned. I contacted the manufacturer to find out about getting it repaired under warranty.

They are asking me to pay the postage costs of sending the card to them, which I am happy to do, but they are also asking for a 25 "administration fee".

Is this allowed? Is it standard procedure?

The fact that the component malfunctioned was an inconvenience to me, but I'm having to pay them for it!

I haven't read the small print of the warranty information so will do when I get in from work.

I thought this was bloody cheeky of them!
