Why no mention of dogs. I saw a few straining at the leash but none released.

Over 100 policemen, 5 service dogs injured in London riots - Scotland Yard
Topic: England's summer of discontent

if a police dog handler decides to deploy a dog then they must be able to justify that use of force - ie the dog was deployed against the person running towards them with the knife to defend / protect the handler and colleagues.

letting a dog run into a gang riot situation is not the brightest use for a police dog, even for the sake of the dog.
I would advocate anything that makes this scum so scared that they would not dream of stepping out into the streets to commit crime - and I mean anything !
Chemical castration/sterilisation.........the few people who still pay tax in this country cant afford to finance any more social mistakes.

Interesting link Brenden.

Unfortunately we can't subject prisoners to intense heat in the UK because of our poor summers. However we could give all rioters, who are presently before the courts, a minimum of six months in the 'cooler'. By that I mean that they are put into cells which do not have central heating and suffer the coldness of our winter; which would be the case if sentenced accordingly within the next few weeks. To hell with human rights legislation.
