I yield to no one in my admiration for Robert Robinson, if for no other reason than patiently putting up with those insufferable prigs, both young and old, who appeared regularly on Ask The Family.

(I suggest looking at the 'Fry & Laurie' video which I posted there . I feel sure that the sketch was was created out of fondness and respect. It seems a fitting tribute to RR).
You should have studied mathematics, Mike. If a double subjunctive can 'turn you on' you should appreciate the ecstasy which a mathematician can get from an 'elegant solution' ;-)
always remembered fondly as the ultimate quizmaster ;-) as a child though,i was always afraid that my mother would enter us into the programme, cos she was so good at maths and i was the opposite! In reality now,the idea of my mother applying to ask the family, makes me doubt my sanity ever existed as a child lol
