The Big Bang Theory and convincing characters

This has to be one of the funniest sitcoms ever written. I am absolutely addicted to this show and have been since the pilot show was first broadcast over here. Sheldon's character is without doubt completely amazing. It aroused a curiosity in me; who are the most convincing characters from comedy's past and present, U.K and U.S that you know and love... or perhaps hate. These are the few I can think of:

Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory
Fraiser Crane from Fraiser
Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses

Sheldon is a superb character - how good s that show? It creases me up.

Martin from Game On, Fraisier, The kid from 2 and a half men, Larry David from curb your enthusiasm

Jim Parsons (Sheldon) plays the character brilliantly. hes deservedly won a few awards for it as well

Alan Harper from Two and a Half Men is superb, not least because Jon Cryer is such a good actor. I always thought Charlie was the least plausible character from that show, so it will be interesting to see how it develops without him...

I love The Big Bang Theory! I love Sheldon but Raj is brilliant too... so funny :) I even know the theme tune by heart.. i'm just sad like that haha x

Aah yes 4getmenot Moss from IT Crowd, he too is absolute genius. I have to say that Wolowitz is my second favourite in BBT, I love the arguments he has with his Ma

One of my favourite sitcom characters is the legendary Al Bundy from Married With Children, plus the sarcasm traded between Bud and Kelly.

For me, there's also Carla from Cheers with her witty put downs, and the madcap Kramer from Seinfeld.

I have heard so many things about Seinfeld and yet never actually watched any of the episodes. I will give it a watch.
